Join our team
Vancouver Christian School (VCS) is seeking an experienced and dedicated Resource Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of teaching experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for inclusive education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide Tier 1 and 2 supports within the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework, including accommodations, adaptations, and modifications (push-in and pull-out models).
  • Coach and mentor teachers through instructional coaching, helping them integrate effective learning strategies and inclusive practices.
  • Work closely with the divisional resource team and Educational Support Services Coordinator as well as actively participating in the K-12 Resource Team.
  • Support students with diverse learning needs, with a focus on those with Q and/or P designations.
  • Develop and implement Learning Support Plans (LSPs) and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to meet student needs.
  • Use best practices, evidence-based interventions, and educational assessments to inform and improve student learning outcomes.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of Response to Intervention (RTI) and inclusive education principles to support classroom teachers.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with parents, students, and staff to ensure a collaborative approach to student support.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with instructional strategies and inclusive education practices.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • BC-certified teacher with a commitment to holistic student growth and recognizing students' potential.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience or equivalent relevant experience (preferred).
  • Graduate degree, diploma, or at least three (3) university-level courses in Inclusive (Special) Education. Candidates who do not yet meet this requirement must be actively pursuing relevant coursework in adaptive curriculum, learning disabilities, instructional methods, or assistive technology.
  • Specialization in literacy is an asset.
  • An engaged Christian, an active member of a Christian church, and committed to Christian education.
  • Adaptive thinker and collaborative problem solver, able to provide strategic guidance to teachers and families.

Compensation

$56,016.00 - $100,902.00 per year
