The school counsellor will provide one-on-one and small group counselling for students and will provide programming to educate students on overall well-being.
Specific duties
● Perform short term counselling and crisis intervention for students as needed
● Provide programming to educate students regarding well-being issues
● Consult with teachers and explore possible strategies and solutions for the concerns that arise to support students
● Maintain confidential records of interactions with students
● Guidance for teachers in identifying students who may require additional support and intervention
● Identify areas of concern with students and develop strategies to improve the interactions between students
● To implement restorative justice procedures following discipline incidents
● To meet regularly with the counselling team and school base team
● To act as a coordinated and integrated support team to meet individual needs
● To act as a coordinated and integrated support team to meet group or grade level needs
● To facilitate communication with parents from the integrated support team to offer consistent and coordinated advice in supporting their children
Qualifications
● Masters in Counselling or equivalent
● Registered Counsellor, RCC or CCC
● Teaching experience, certified teacher will be an asset
● Christian counselling or perspective courses will be an asset
Salary range
$56,016 - $100,902
(Dependent on education, qualifications, and experience; pro-rated for part-time employees)

Compensation
$56,016.00 - $100,902.00 per year
